Active Jersey makes three senior appointments
Increasing interest and the growth of services provided by the
Active Group has resulted in three senior appointments in the
Jersey office.
Joining the team in Jersey are Luciano Brambilla, Susan Wall and
Paul Le Quesne.
Luciano joins the Active board having previously worked as head
of client compliance services and registered Compliance Officer and
Money Laundering Compliance Officer at State Street (Jersey)
Limited. He also worked at the Jersey Financial Services Commission
for 6 years conducting supervisory visits and authorising
collective investment funds and investment businesses. After
leaving the Commission Luciano was Head of Compliance at a number
of institutions and was responsible for the compliance of regulated
funds, trust and investment businesses.
Sue brings with her 30 years experience in the Finance Industry,
predominantly in the banking and trust sectors and has been
involved in compliance since 2000. In 2008, she applied her
knowledge in assisting with the set-up of a new bank which offers
Private Banking Services to High Net Worth Individuals, and
implemented systems, procedures and staff training prior to
accepting the position of Compliance Officer, Money Laundering
Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer with
Active.
Paul began his career in finance in 1981 in the audit department
at Coopers and Lybrand. For the past 14 years Paul has led the
Channel Islands team for Thomson Reuters establishing strong
relationships with all key financial institutions providing data
and workflow solutions across the enterprise.
Commenting on the appointments, Mark Hill, Director of Active
Services (Jersey) Limited said: "Sue's and Luciano's appointments
brings to the group exceptional compliance, governance and
regulatory skills as well as an excellent knowledge of fund,
banking and corporate structures. Strong expertise in fund and
corporate administration combined with over thirty years of
experience will ensure that our customers and clients receive
exemplary service.
Paul's appointment brings to the group an expertise in business
development and client management reflecting our aspirations and
goals in the continued growth of our business".
Luciano said: 'This new appointment comes at a very interesting
time for the offshore funds industry as service providers look to
mitigate risk, advocate the use of independent directors on the
boards, use independent Managers of Managed Entities and promote
the highest levels of governance. Having previously been
responsible for the MoME compliance, AML and corporate governance
of 60 plus managed entities I look forward to applying this
experience to Active's growing MoME business.'
'Also with higher risk clients being taken on as a result of the
recession and credit crunch, being vigilant and ensuring that all
staff including directors and NED's receive appropriate anti-money
laundering training is of paramount importance'.
Sue added: This is also an interesting time as service providers
look to bolster their internal resources or seek independent
assessment of their compliance and governance systems and
procedures.
Paul concluded by confirming his own goals to broaden the
company's expansion into these areas and that he was looking
forward to the challenge of being instrumental in this growth.
