Wayne Bulpitt founded the Active Group Limited in 2002 after periods with National Westminster Bank and CIBC. He has over 25 years of experience of creating, managing and developing offshore investment products and services from a commercial perspective.
At the same time as building a successful business, Wayne has been a passionate supporter of social entrepreneurship, especially in the support and development of young people. In 2009 Wayne became The Scout Association’s first UK Chief Commissioner with responsibility for leading the UK movements 550,000 members, having held several key national roles since being elected a trustee in 2001.
In addition to his voluntary activities with the Scout Association, Wayne is also active in wider youth issues in the Bailiwick. With a friend he purchased and renovated a former chapel in 2006 that is now the base of the successful North Youth Centre and in 2008 he founded a charity to purchase The Caves, a former pub that now forms the base for the St Peter Port Centre for Young People.
In 2009 he led the establishment of the Youth Partnership for Guernsey & Alderney which took over responsibility for running Youth Services in the Bailiwick in 2013. Wayne is also a founding member of the Guernsey Community Foundation, whose aim is to promote effective philanthropy.
